Family Medicine

 

Full-service Family Medicine providing care for all stages of life; from newborns and children, pregnant persons, and adults through to the elderly and end of life palliative care. This also includes management of chronic diseases, preventative health screening, trans care, addiction medicine and mental health care.

Specialty Clinics

 

Specialty clinics that may receive outside referrals:

  • Gender-affirming care*

  • Medical abortion*

  • Sexual health (including IUD, Nexplanon and PrEP)*

  • Palliative symptom control consults, palliative MRP care, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) through the Georgian Bay Palliative Team.

  • TB skin testing

  • Procedures (pap smear, skin biopsies, toenails)

*People who do not have a family physician at Waves can also call the office to self-refer for starred services above.

Inpatient Care

All physicians at Waves Family Medicine also work at Georgian Bay General Hospital. If you are a Waves patient and are admitted at GBGH, one of our 5 physicians will be involved in your care during your stay. This may mean some office appointments will be delayed or interrupted when your family physician is on call with the hospital. We appreciate your patience as we do our best to provide comprehensive care to all.
